Yeah!

I survived the first round of letters!!!!! I have got a jobinterview next tuesday at 13.30. It is for the unpaid job I talked about earlier. But it would be good practice and a return to working society. And there is the possibility of paid work after six months. Please keep everything you have crossed for me next week!!!!

  I want to start with how astonished I was how much material was in this book that was completely new to me. And I have most of the biographies written about Longstreet in my possession. Most books don’t cover the post war period at all but some of the more modern ones do, but none go into the detail that this book does. So kudo’s for all the research done and the facts uncovered. The good Most of the book was devoted to the pre and post war period of Longstreet’s life. I found it an intriguing read. What surprised me most were the detailed accounts of the slaves Longstreet owned before and during the war. Especially as there had been no proof of this before as far as I know. And the fact that Longstreet was an ardent believer in slavery before the war. As well as some speeches and actions during the war. To be honest that part shocked me a little bit. craft fair and gay marriage ban

Yesterday I visited my first ever crafts fair. I never call myself a creative person except for writing, although I did a lot of crafty things as a child. Practically now I don't have the patience to do crafts. People would say I have loads of time but I can't set myself to it. Of course most of them I would have to do in very small portions because of my hands, the same I do everything else. And that would be hard as well. Having to stop when you are in the flow. But the fair was fun! I was in good company with two good friends, Marjon and Susan. And I was only going for the fun. And fun we did have, loads of it. We only s a w about half of the stalls and didn't have time to do any workshops. I was good and didn't buy much. In the past I would have and on coming home would have dumped it in a corner and probably never have done anything with it later. I am getting better with my money. USA holiday 2023 the voyage home nightmare

  The holiday was over too soon. That last saturday I decided to just rest and lay on bed at Koen's aunt and uncle. We were going to leave for the airport after lunch and I was dreading the long journey. I never sleep on planes and I did not expect to sleep this time so any rest I could get now would help. Boarding in Philadelphia was smooth and we were lucky this time. The plane was nearly sold out but we had an empty chair in between. We had eaten something at the airport. It was not very big so it was hard to find something that was not absolutely crowded. If I was the airline I would do things differently on a flight like this. It is only a 7 hour flight to London. and it took nearly two hours before they served us a meal. So by the time that was finished it was nearly 3 hours into the journey and very little time go get some sleep. I don't think many people managed it. An hour before landing they wake you up already.
