Dentist, sharpe and new writers

Tomorrow is dentist day, the first of three actually. I need crowns. {I hope that is the english translation it is kronen in dutch} It will take three appointments, no idea what they are going to do. I only know that tomorrow will last about 90 minutes and I need to keep my mouth wide open all the time. Now that is the part I am not looking forward to. Going to the dentist is not my biggest hobby and keeping my mouth open that long is agony. The trouble with my muscles starts in my neck and shoulder muscles and it can either go to my arms and hands, as it does most of the time but it can go to my head as well and give me terrible headaches. Well I can take it easy thursday and friday. But I have to be fit for studyday on saturday.

Yesterday I watched the latest Sharpe: Sharpe's peril. It is really, really great, I watched both episodes in one go. It has the old action, a good story an
d believable characters. I am so glad that Sean Bean is still willing to do them. It is the series that made him a big name but the series is over ten years ago now. They did another one about two years ago and now this one. They are set in India. In the books the action takes place before the peninsular campaign and the fighting in France. But because Bean is not getting any younger they have now set it a few years after the Waterloo campaign and for me it works. They killed most of the cast in Sharpe's Waterloo, so now it is just Sharpe and Harper. I hope they make many, many more!

Done a lot of reading on sunday and yesterday evening as well. Finished a few Laurell
Hamilton's and am now trying an author that is new to me. Keri Arthur. It is also paranormal romance, but what is different here is that the stories take place in Australia. I have read many that take place in the US, Canada and Europe but Australia is new for me and that is nice. The main character is a mix of vampire and were. It is going to be interresting to see were she is going to take that. Right now I have not gotten far yet, but it is interresting. Iwill let you all know what I think when I finish the books.

I have never seen a Sharpe story... they're not shown in the US (probably a plot by some American film makers so that Americans only think of Sean Bean as a bad guy).

I'd love to see Sharpe. Too bad some American channel like PBS wont pick it up.

They didn't? That is a shame, they are so great! My video copies were worn out! I now have the whole set on DVD. Bean is great in Sharpe and very sympathetic!
