mr. president
I intend to talk more about politics tomorrow morning on the day of the american elecions itself. But last night I saw a very good documentary about the influence of tv and film on the elections. They stated that series as West wing, commander in chief, battlestar galactica and even the horrible 24 have helped people get used to seeing a black man or a woman as president. Funny how it works but I think they are right. When west wing introduces Mat Santos as the democratic candidate in the series in 2004 they were even looking at Obama. It is eerie to see how reality is following the series now.
I finished some books this weekend. Another Anita Blake reread, obsidian butterfly. Not my favorite in the series. Not because the story is not good but I miss too many of the regular characters. Only Edward is in it of the regular cast and therefor it was slow reading for me. Starting Narcissus in chains tonight. That will hold my interrest better. The whole cast is in it and that one introduces an important new character. Not my favorite, but still. Micah is part of the regular cast now. My favorites? Jean Claude and Nathaniel.
Also finished hostage to pleasure, by Nalini Singh. This series has really grown on me. I had a devil of a time getting into the first novel, I found it slow and not that interresting but when I finally got into the story it gripped me. And it never let go again. She has created an interresting world with a different twist on weres. And creates a new race of people with large mind abilities, but no feelings. or at least they think they have no feelings. :) Looking forward to more stories in the future! I don't know how these authors do it, write two books a year and they are still good. Starting in the second one from Kresley Cole, no rest for the wicked. Let's say that the jury is still out on this one. I am not sure what I thought about the first one. I liked it enough to pick up three more cheap this summer but I am not sure if this series is going to be a winner for me. I will let you know.
