The world is a scary place right now. Banks toppling left and right. And my own bank not out of the woods yet. The stockmarket crashing again, where is it going to end? As I know nothing about money it is difficult to oversee for someone like me. I guess we can only wait and hope for the best. Back to books. I am reading a very interresting book for the study and for my own pain management at the moment. In dutch it is called, de pijn de baas, by Frits Winter. It has a translation as well. I have included a pick of the american edition. As I suffer from chronic pain myself and I want to help others with chronic pain deal with it in my practice this is really an invaluable book. It is written by someone who shows understanding for the pain, he really gives you that feeling. And he really comes up with methods that are worthwhile and doable even if you have a lot of pain. He takes us serious, but at the same time urges to take action and not be a victim. That is the kind of approach tha...
Life is hectic right now. This weekend there was a scare if my bank was going to survive. I think that is the first time this ever happened in The Netherlands, especially during my life time. It makes you think. My bank has been saved for now, but it makes me want to spread my savings out. Not that it is that much, LOL. I wish. Saw the doctor this morning. My headaches have been well pretty bad lately and I am taking way to many painkillers. Weird, I will not take them for my RSI pains, I have pain in my neck, shoulders and arms every moment of the day but a headache makes me grab the asprine bottle pretty quick. I like to be busy, and a bad headache reduces you to laying in bed staring at the ceiling, not fun. So I can finally go to the local headache clinic to really work on this. Bad thing, they only had an opening in December. But at least I am working on it. This needs to get sorted before I start the practice. Have some new ideas about the practice. One of the group of clients I ...

Reading update: After a pretty intense studyday for counseling/coaching yesterday I am going to relax today. In the background I am listening/watching the world championship cycling, another of my hobbies. But back to reading. This week C.L. Wilson's King of sword and sky arrived. Today I plan to finish Lady of light and shadows, the second book. I am rereading it, and I remember finishing it in a day last year. And it is still pretty good on rereading. The characters are vivid. Not black and white, they strugle with their own problems and the storyline is fresh. I read more books at once and at the moment I am also rereading the Anita Blake series. Rereading it for the third time. The series has changed a lot over the years. But I must say I still like it. I care a lot about the characters and must admit to being a Jean Claude fan. Never cared much for Richard or Micah. It would be nice to hear from other people to see what they think.
